Allegra Hicks is the designer and face behind the eponymous international luxury lifestyle brand that is recognized around the world for its beautiful textiles and prints.

Born to parents with an appreciation for modern architecture, Allegra inherited a passionate eye for design. At 18, she moved to Milan to study design. Her tastes developed further following time in Brussels studying fine art. After her studies, she went to New York to work in a contemporary art gallery after which she assisted artist Donald Baechler for a year. Finally Allegra settled in London and started her own business.

Today, Allegra Hicks designs fabrics and rugs, a home collection, as well as bespoke pieces for private and commercial clients. Her fabric collection is distributed by Lee Jofa in the US, Turnell & Gigon in the UK and Europe, and Tigger Hall in Australia. Her bespoke work includes rugs, wall embroideries and hangings as well as furniture.

Allegra’s latest design collaborations include a range of rugs for The Rug Company, interiors products for West Elm in the US, and the Lulu capsule collection for online furniture retailer

In November 2010, Allegra published her latest book ‘An Eye For Design’ with Abrams publishing. The book has been described as “A visual poem and an internal voyage through a designer’s mind which will inspire readers to look at fabrics and interiors in new ways.”

Allegra’s style and elegance has drawn attention the world over and she has been recognized for her achievements as a designer. In 2005, Allegra won the prestigious US Elle Decor Best Wallpaper Award; in 2006, Elle Decoration awarded her the UK’s Best Fabric Award and Allegra has been named one of the ten best-dressed women in the world
